OLD BLOGS:
Feb 20, 2022 - To all Lake Sunnyside riparian (lakeside) property owners and residents that use the lake. Click on the 2022 Herbicide Treatment Information icon for herbicide product information that will be used in Lake Sunnyside this spring/summer (2022). When the date of herbicide application is determined, another notice will be posted on this website announcing the date.
May 27, 2022 - Here's a quick update on our planned application of herbicides this spring. Right now it looks Burden Aquatics will be adding the herbicide sometime between June 10 and June 17th. There are many factors that come into play for determining what date will maximize the eradication of Eurasian watermilfoil plants in the lake. I’ve been doing regular surveys of the lake’s milfoil population and I’ve been communicating my observations to Burden Aquatics. Ultimately, Burden Aquatics and SePRO (herbicide manufacture) will determine the date they believe will be most effective. As soon as We have more information, it will be emailed and posted here.
Feb 17, 2022 - On Feb 14th, Queensbury's Town Board approved the resolution to contract with Burden Aquatics to apply herbicides in Lake Sunnyside this spring. PALS will be working with Burden Aquatics to file all the appropriate paperwork with the DEC.
